3. Examples of control chains
Traditionally, the control of 4 variables is considered fundamental: temperature, pressure, flow and level. However, many other variables are subject to loops, from pH to viscosity to hygrometry, and many particularities are revealed in the implementation of controls on these fundamental variables.
3.1 Temperature control of a tube furnace
The installation is shown in figure 5 .
The aim of this installation is to bring small samples up to a given temperature (a few hundred degrees Celsius).
