For the ergonomist, task analysis is the analysis of all the requirements relating to the tasks performed at the workstation. This phase of the ergonomic analysis enables us to :

• situate this set of tasks in relation to all productive activity;

• detail the conditions (optimal/theoretical) for producing the activity at the workstation;

• describe the expected sequence of tasks;

• identify procedures for guiding action and sequencing actions for each operation;

• identify associated documentation and all (official) supports for the activity.
