4. Conclusion

Liquid chromatography is a technique that has evolved considerably since the early 2000s, with numerous technological innovations (stationary phases, HPLC instruments and analytical conditions) summarized in figure 14 . The aim of these improvements is to respond to current problems, which are the need :

  • the ability to carry out rapid/ultrarapid analyses, particularly in the pharmaceutical field;

  • obtain very high resolutions for the analysis of the most complex mixtures (plant extracts, proteomics, human metabolomics, etc.);
