ITR; ITR

ITRs, short for Inverted Terminal Repeats, are inverted repeat sequences found at the ends of certain viral genomes. In the case of AAVs, these sequences form hairpin structures at each end of the single-stranded viral DNA. They are involved in genome replication, in its integration into chromosome 19 of host cells, and also in viral encapsidation.

ME; ME

Multiplicity of infection (MOI): This parameter refers to the number of infectious viral particles used to infect each cell in a culture.

Perfused mode in cell culture

A method that involves removing culture medium containing metabolites and replacing it with fresh medium. The cells remain in place, and the volume of the culture generally remains the same throughout the process.
