2. Tools for assessing the biomechanical parameters of FRM propulsion
Various tools are available to assess the biomechanical parameters of FRM propulsion. Depending on the research objectives, we can use roller ergometers or treadmills for standardized laboratory evaluation. On-board sensors, such as instrumented wheels or inertial units, can be used to assess FRM parasportives under field conditions.
Instrumented roller ergometers can be used to analyze the power developed during wheelchair propulsion. Here, we'll be highlighting the VP HANDISPORT model (HEF Tecmachine, France), specially adapted to work with handi-sport athletes (figure
