2. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy
The experimental setup used for photodissociation is shown in Figures and. It consists of a commercial mass spectrometer (LCQ DUO MSN, Thermo-Fisher, Figure) coupled to a wavelength-tunable laser beam. Ions from an electrospray source are guided by two octopoles and injected into a trap consisting of three electrodes: two cap electrodes and a central ring electrode. The laser used for photodissociation is an optical parametric oscillator (Panther OPO pumped by a Powerlite 8000 Continuum laser).
