According to the research firm IDC (International Data Corporation), the world’s leading consulting and research group for information technology markets, the global volume of data was estimated at 163 zettabytes in 2025; it is reported to have already reached 180 zettabytes (180 × 1021 bytes), demonstrating a dramatic increase.
