2. Analytical reconstructions: filtered backprojection (FBP)

Since the advent of CT scanners, the dominant methods have been analytical, based as they are on a double Fourier transform. They are simple and benefit from FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) algorithms, which considerably lighten the computations - an essential property in the 1970s-2010s.

2.1 Radon projection or transform
