4. Nanoparticle-based sonosensitizers

Most organic sonosensitizers are poorly soluble in water, often aggregate through hydrophobic interactions, induce cutaneous phototoxicities and are rapidly eliminated from the bloodstream, limiting their effective concentration in the pathological areas to be treated.
