8. Rescue equipment
They are tested on typical fireplaces according to the following fire classes:
Class A: fires involving solid materials, generally organic in nature, which burn normally with the formation of embers;
class B: fires involving flammable liquids or liquefiable solids ;
class C: gas fires ;
class D: metal fires.
The choice of extinguishing agent depends on the class of fire most likely to occur in the extinguisher's zone of action. For information purposes, the table , based on results recorded on typical fires, enables you to compare the effectiveness of each extinguishing agent.
