Reinforced concrete pathologies - design and calculation errors

In this first part of our study, devoted to the various pathologies affecting reinforced concrete structures, we have examined those whose origins are due either to :

• design, i.e. in the very early stages of preliminary or feasibility studies;

• calculations.

And whose cumulative costs represent a statistically significant proportion of the overall cost of the disorders in question, both of which directly implicate the design engineer.

At this point, we'd like to highlight a few key points.
