4. Disposal channels
Final disposal facilities are either landfills or incineration plants. In the case of the latter, incineration may be accompanied by recovery.
A landfill can be defined as a facility for disposing of waste by depositing or burying it on the ground or in artificial or natural cavities in the ground and covering it subsequently, with no intention of reclaiming it at a later date.
