3. Cinematic effects
Kinematic interaction is the difference between free-field seismic movement (ground deformation due to the passage of seismic waves in the absence of man-made structures interfering with their propagation) and the movement induced by the presence of a structure on the surface and its foundations (shallow foundations, deep foundations).
To study this effect, we need to define the horizontal depth displacement ux(t, z) resulting from ground deformation under earthquake conditions.
