3. Resistivity logging

In civil engineering, resistivity logging
is used to determine the lithology of the ground traversed by a borehole.
It can also be used to study the fracturing of a rock mass. It also
complements surface electrical prospecting campaigns, by providing
precise information on the local distribution of material resistivities
as a function of depth, enabling interpretation of surface measurements
by removing ambiguities. In particular, we can accurately determine
the depth of interfaces and the thickness of the various geological
layers revealed.
