A reverse engineering method for evaluating the thermal behavior of a historical building

A wing of one of the ICAM buildings in Lille was chosen to understand its thermal behavior. This building is not well insulated and consumes a lot of energy, as shown by the gas consumption bill (~ 21 k€/year).

This building is called the "Auber building" because it runs parallel to Rue Auber in Lille, with geographic coordinates of 50° 37' 49'' N, 3° 2' 30'' E (see figure 1). It has a first floor, 1^er floor, 2nd floor and an attic with a roof. The building comprises classrooms and offices. The surface area of each floor is approximately 474 m². The building's main entrance faces northeast, while the other side faces the ICAM courtyard. As previously mentioned, the building was constructed at the end of the 19th century (see figure
