1. Context
A wing of one of the ICAM buildings in Lille was chosen to understand
its thermal behavior. This building is not well insulated and consumes
a lot of energy, as shown by the gas consumption bill (~ 21 k€/year).
This building is called the "Auber building" because it runs parallel
to Rue Auber in Lille, with geographic coordinates of 50° 37' 49''
N, 3° 2' 30'' E (see figure

). It has a first floor, 1

and an attic with a roof. The building comprises classrooms and offices.
The surface area of each floor is approximately 474 m

The building's main entrance faces northeast, while the other side
