Aluminium

Alumina

Aluminum oxide (Al ₂ O ₃ ); a white powder extracted from bauxite, the raw material for electrolysis, and a component of the metal’s natural protective layer.

Inert anode

A non-consumable anode that releases oxygen instead of CO ₂ during electrolysis.

Anodizing

An electrolytic treatment that thickens the surface alumina layer to make it more protective, colorable, and sealable.

Bauxite

Aluminum ore, a mixture of oxides (aluminum, iron, silicon, titanium) and water, from which alumina is extracted.
