2. Tensile test
The tensile test is considered one of the most important of all mechanical tests. This test is used to determine the mechanical properties of a material under various simple stresses to which a mechanical part may be subjected. For this purpose, a specimen is subjected to a progressive tensile stress until failure. The loads and corresponding elongations are recorded on a machine, giving rise to a diagram known as the tensile curve. This curve is used to determine the yield strength, tensile strength, Young's modulus and elongation at break of the material under test.
