4. Mortars
Ordinary cement mortar is not acceptable for roofing, as it makes the joints too rigid and therefore leads to the risk of cracking. Lime or cement mortar is used for masonry work, or bastard mortar for hoarding, fillets or flashings.
Depending on the nature of the assembly to be carried out, the following dosages are used:

Mortars for concrete slabs:
Lime or cement masonry mortar: 250 kg to 350 kg of lime or cement masonry mortar per cubic metre of dry sand;
Bastard mortar: 150 kg common cement and 175 to 225 kg lime per cubic metre of dry sand.
