3. Extrusion of PVC window profiles
The range of profiles contained in a system offers a wide variety of geometries covering a range of linear masses from a few tens of grams/metre to several kilograms/metre.
In addition, flexible sealing lips (single or multiple) are typically found co-extruded on frames, sashes and glazing beads.
Similarly, the need to diversify colors has led some manufacturers to co-extrude colored layers of PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) a few tenths of a millimeter thick on the appearance faces of main profiles.
The manufacturer may also produce baseboards or spandrel panels in partitioned PVC or expanded PVC with compact skins.
