Quality of concrete

The use of European standard NF EN 206/CN has made it possible to define more precisely the responsibilities of the various players involved in the design, manufacture and use of a concrete composition. This definition includes classification into three main types of concrete:

• concretes with specified properties ;

• concretes with a prescribed composition ;

• concretes with a composition prescribed in a standard.

The NF EN 206/CN standard has evolved several times to take into account, in particular, the evolution of knowledge in the field of durability, linked to the increasing use of additions.
