4.1 General
Punching can result from a concentrated load or reaction applied to a relatively small area of a slab or foundation, known as the loaded area, A load.
4.2 Reference control section
The calculations are carried out considering a "reference control contour" surrounding the loaded area at a distance nowhere less than 2d, with, for a slab (figure 18):
