2. Overview of current regulations
Strictly speaking, in the field of mixed construction applicable to buildings, France has only relatively recently adopted specific rules. However, for the calculation of steel-concrete composite bridges, Circular No. 81-63 of July 28, 1981, issued by the Ministry of Urban Planning and Housing, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of the Environment, proved to be a simple and effective set of regulations, with concepts that were already advanced for the time, and which have since led to a remarkable boom in composite structures in our country, particularly of the double-girder type.
