3. Solar air conditioning
Unlike heating systems, there's a perfect match between solar energy and cooling requirements. This coincidence can be seen both seasonally and on a daily basis. In fact, it's when solar irradiation is at its highest that cooling requirements are greatest (figure 6).
The technique employed consists in using absorption or adsorption machines to produce cold from a hot source. The schematic diagram of an installation is shown in figure 7.
