Geothermal energy is considered to be non-polluting, but a number of precautions need to be taken when implementing it.

Assessing the environmental impact of a geothermal operation requires a two-level analysis. The first level corresponds to the initial implementation of the operation. It concerns drilling and distribution network works. The second level is that of operation, including a comparison with the conventional energy sources that geothermal energy can replace.
