10. Surfaces
The 2012 Thermal Regulations include their own definitions of surface areas.
Noted SURT, this usable floor area as defined by RT 2012 is defined for any building or part of a building used for purposes other than housing, as the built floor area of premises subject to the Thermal Regulations, after deduction of :
wall surfaces, including insulation ;
fixed partitions as per plans ;
poles ;
stairs and stairwells ;
sheaths ;
door and window frames ;
parts of premises with a height of less than 1.80 m ;
parts of the lower level used as a stairway or access ramp, or parts of the lower level at which the hoppers of elevators,...
