6. Example of efficient thermal solutions according to RT 2012
Effective thermal bridge breakers are available for all types of structures:
concrete-concrete bonds ;
steel-concrete ;
steel-steel ;
wood-concrete.
While the most common are concrete-to-concrete breakers, we'll start by presenting those used in steel construction, as they provide a good understanding of the mechanical operating principle of other solutions.
6.1 Steel connection processing solutions – steel
In metal construction, singular points such as through-beams and insulation fasteners on cladding or other types of façade considerably reduce surface temperature and lead to condensation on the interior surface (figure 24).
