4. Lifting station
A lift station is sometimes necessary for:
bring wastewater to the top of an infiltration mound;
supply a vertical drained sand filter so that the treated
water can be discharged into an outlet (in the event of a slight difference
in level between the wastewater outlet of the dwelling and the outlet);
supply other treatment devices according to the topography
of the terrain, wastewater outlet levels, and excavation depths to
be observed.
The lifting station is either prefabricated (in kit form) or not,
and must be equipped with a removable plug. It includes (figure
