The direct measurement methods available for quantifying general sustainability indicators and alkali-reaction-specific indicators, as well as the tests that can be used to quantify parameters that provide indirect access to general sustainability indicators, are summarized in Table 1 , along with their precision and the time required to obtain results.

Only the main direct methods for determining general sustainability indicators are described below. Other methods, as well as those for quantifying specific sustainability indicators, surrogate indicators or complementary parameters, are described in other publications (see reference [16]...
