Water in the soil

A groundwater table or water table is made up of all the water saturating a piece of land, the various parts of which are in continuous contact, through pores, cracks or channels [3] . This very general definition does not take into account ground permeability or hydraulic head. It applies well to scree slopes, where water flows preferentially through channels, while bathing the more clayey zones.
