5. Flow pressures
The loss of head following the flow of water in the soil reflects the dissipation of energy resulting from the interaction of water with soil particles. Conversely, moving water exerts an action on these particles called "flow pressure or thrust".
This flow pressure is added to the pressure exerted on the ground by water in hydrostatic equilibrium (Archimedes' buoyancy), leading to the calculation of a dislodged volumetric weight
