Reinforced concrete is used to make the load-bearing structure of buildings.
It is obtained by mixing steels in a structured manner inside the concrete.
Spans without intermediate columns are of the order of 7 to 8 meters maximum with standard concretes. High-performance concretes (HPC) are not included in the limit state design rules for reinforced concrete.
Reinforced concrete is now widely used in the building industry.
The products most commonly used in the building industry are joists, beams, lightweight honeycomb floor slabs and many others.
