2. Principles of sound insulation
Acoustic insulation must be considered at the design stage, taking into account all potential sources of noise, then specified and implemented according to the different walls concerned.
Acoustic insulation is based on three main principles: the law of mass, the law of mass-spring-mass, and the law of tightness.

Mass law
The heavier it is, the better it insulates. The acoustic performance of a single wall, made of a single material, varies according to its nature and mass per unit area.
