Presentation of the different types of interior wall insulation for individual and collective housing.

The back-up wall technique is designed for irregular walls, or when especially high-performance insulation is required, since it is possible, in absolute terms, to choose the thickness. Insulation in rolls or semi-rigid panels is the most widely used. They adapt to uneven surfaces.

• Dry solution

  Semi-rigid rolls or panels of mineral wool, covered with a kraft vapour barrier on the inside, are inserted behind the studs of a pre-installed wooden or metal frame. The whole system is concealed behind cladding, such as BA 13 plasterboard, OSB panels or panelling... This is a lightweight solution, particularly interesting when thermo-acoustic insulation is required.

• Wet solution

  In this case, a wall made of plasterboard, aerated concrete or plaster bricks is installed...
