1. Ropes
The use of ropes in construction is tending to disappear in favor of the use of steel traction cables, in work and tower cranes, however there remains a great tradition of ropes. Ropes are used in stone cladding, in machinery and lifting gear, such as goat cranes, and in wooden scaffolding, where ropes called "Limousin" are used to assemble the pieces.
1.1 Constitution
Rope is a textile product with a diameter of 4 mm or more, made up of twisted or braided strands, with or without a core.
It can be made up of :
natural fibers (hemp, manila, etc.);
synthetic fibers (polyamide, polyester, polypropylene or polyethylene).
