2. Retaining wall design
The SETRA guide proposes a classification of structures that cross-references the sensitivity of the structure with the technology of each process. This approach makes it easier to adapt the design to the specific features of the project.
Simple structure: a structure is considered simple if it has a vertical facing of less than 3 m and if failure would not have serious consequences for its immediate environment, such as an isolated platform with no nearby buildings.
Sensitive structures: the same structure could be classified as sensitive if it is located near future constructions, roads or critical infrastructures.
