When a building is constructed, the emanations come mainly from the ground, and radon gas continues its migration path into the air. This explains why it is virtually impossible to measure its radiation in the absence of confinement.

To get an idea of the amount of radon present, you need to investigate and compare the geology of the site with surrounding areas where the concentration of gas is known. Depending on the type of construction chosen, precautions must be taken when selecting ventilation systems for foundations, cellars and living areas.
