3.1 Classification of aerodromes reserved for aircraft
Like international regulations for aircraft-only airfields, the French classification will be based on the critical aircraft likely to use the airfield, and will be used by airfield designers and users to size and protect the airfield. This classification was included in the new Technical Instruction on Civil Aerodromes (ITAC) in 1999. This new classification will come into effect once the Civil Aviation Code has been amended.
