HDPE geomembranes are clearly the most chemically resistant. They have very high resistance to most chemicals, and for this reason are used for bottom sealing in the majority of waste storage facilities, even in cases where chemical concentrations are very low and other geomembranes would probably be able to withstand them.

LLDPE and PP geomembranes have fairly high chemical resistance to many products.

PVC, EPDM and CSPE geomembranes, as well as bituminous geomembranes, have relatively low chemical resistance to many products, especially hydrocarbons....
