9. Treatment studies
The decision to use treatment to create a fill or subgrade must be based on objective elements derived from :
geotechnical studies, which have two main components: materials identification and mix design;
economic studies, including a comparison of the site's materials processing option with other solutions, loans or external supplies.
Treatment studies must therefore be organized according to a pre-established program that will refer to three levels of study which, within the general framework of a project, fall within the "preliminary studies", "preliminary project" and "execution project" stages.
