5. Treatment with hydraulic binders
In the presence of water, cements and hydraulic road binders (HRBs) give treated materials a permanent cohesion known as "hydraulic setting", the extent and quality of which depend on :
the nature of the material processed ;
the type of binder used ;
the quantity of binder introduced into the mixture ;
the amount of water required to hydrate the binder ;
the quality of the ground material after processing;
the compactness achieved during processing;
the temperature of the medium and the age of the mixture....
