Pathology and maintenance in the construction sector

The main principles governing new construction have not changed. Buildings should still be constructed in accordance with the "rules of the art", i.e. in close compliance with existing standards and regulations (Normes, DTU, Eurocodes, etc.).

The client always wants prices to be "well thought-out" and, to achieve this, the project manager must use the techniques and materials best suited to the project, and therefore the most cost-effective.

However, the field of maintenance work has evolved considerably over the last few decades. It no longer has, as it did in the past, the devalued image of secondary work of no interest to a prime contractor.
