1.1 The solution must be... (or the challenge of the "right" solution)
The assumed or hoped-for optimality of the solution can only be achieved by applying a broad and open approach that integrates numerous dimensions, constraints, contradictions, ambiguities, etc. In an industrial context, let's recall the major ones:
the trade-off between cost, time, performance and quality;
consideration of the state of the art, physical or technological limitations ;
standards and norms...
