2.1 Stability definitions
The notion of stability, although intuitive, leads to such diverse interpretations that it needs to be clarified. In physics, we speak of a stable system in the vicinity of a given point (or trajectory) when small perturbations lead to small deviations from this point (or trajectory).
However, it is important to distinguish the stability of free systems 2.1.1 from that of forced systems
