2.1.1 Introduction
If, in the covering group that generated the crystal from a certain pattern, we consider only the subgroup of translations, we can define a network of points, called nodes, which are deduced from each other by the translations of this subgroup.
If the group contains only a translation and its multiples, we obtain a one-dimensional network, called a row. The distance between two successive nodes is the row parameter.
