2.1 Material description and manufacturing
Lithium niobate, LiNbO3, is a synthetic material with various physical and optical properties. . It is a colorless crystal, transparent over a very wide wavelength range from ultraviolet, around 300 nm, to mid-infrared (5,000 nm). Figure3 shows the transmission of lithium niobate. Transparency is perfectly uniform over a wide range of uses. It is a uniaxial anisotropic crystal with ordinary dispersion
