Thanks to its many qualities (easy and inexpensive synthesis process, recyclability, etc.), glass has been and remains an essential material for today's society, but above all for the future. Thanks to its many chemical formulations, glass has found countless applications that have led to today's technologies, telecommunications being the most pertinent example to mention.

Today, we are witnessing the birth of a new type of material: glass with nanoparticles embedded in the glass network. The presence of nanoparticles in glasses has made it possible to significantly improve their properties compared with traditional glasses, and to create new properties. To date, a large number of glass-ceramics and composites have been prepared with nanoparticles (oxide, fluoride, phosphate, alumina, etc.).
