3. Detector installation
To get the best performance from detectors for a given application,
you need to use the right radiation observation method, polarization,
matching and amplification circuits, and instruments (ammeter,
oscilloscope, etc.).
Where the signal level is high (e.g. electrical signal power in
excess of 10

W), and for laboratory work
of short duration, simple observation methods can generally
be used, based on the basic equipment found in most physics
laboratories: galvanometers, electronic voltmeters, resistor boxes,
oscilloscopes, etc.
