2. Ablation mechanisms and process control
Having reviewed a number of important parameters of ultra-high-speed processes, which has enabled us to introduce the specificity of laser-matter interaction mechanisms, let's now turn our attention to the tools, both experimental and theoretical, that enable these processes to be controlled. The more complex materials of industrial interest we consider, the more difficult it becomes to link an understanding of fundamental ablation mechanisms with process control. However, this effort remains useful for understanding the difficulties and challenges involved in developing femtosecond technologies.
