8. Conclusion
Thermoplastic composites are lightweight, high-performance
materials that are increasingly used in a variety of sectors. Various
technologies can be used to join thermoplastic polymers and/or composites,
such as resistance welding, vibration, induction, ultrasound and infrared
radiation. However, transmission laser welding is considered one of
the most efficient and cleanest methods for joining thermoplastic
composites.
