There are many different architectures for 2-stage cycles.

An architecture comparable to that used for the double-acting cycle consists in using twice the heat of desorption and this in order to increase the COP, as described in the article [BE 9 735] for the H₂O-LiBr couple. However, its implementation with the NH₃-H₂O couple leads to pressure levels too high for commercial application.
